WALKING GROUP

'Wandering Stars' - Steadier steps outdoors

Movement that goes somewhere

It started with a conversation. A client told me she’d stopped walking with friends, not because she couldn’t walk, but because she was worried about holding everyone up. The bench stops, the lagging behind and the constant thought of “will I manage this?”

She missed being able to enjoy the walk itself, the views and the feeling of being part of things without worrying about how her body would cope.

That’s what Wandering Stars is for. Gentle outdoor walking combined with simple balance, strength and movement work to help people feel more confident on hills, uneven ground and longer walks.

No pressure to keep up. Just supportive movement outdoors with other people who understand what it feels like when confidence starts to change.

HOW TO BOOK

Book individual walks or join as a regular with a flexible pass via Gymcatch.

“I feel so much better mentally and think I’m improving in balance and jumping. I feel like a new man!”

“I’m now thinking about how I use my feet when I walk. The playfulness really stands out with the challenges along the way – like jumping over logs and sticks.”

“I want to maintain my physicality and realise if you ‘don’t use it, you loose it’. My legs feel stronger and I’m thoroughly enjoying the walks”

in their words

The proof is in the hills they climbed.

The holidays they enjoyed.

The walks they stopped avoiding.

The moments they realised they felt more capable again.

These are the people who started worrying less about what their bodies could handle.

Today we walked through the Wessenden Valley and I couldn’t believe how far I managed without hip, thigh or foot pain. My family were amazed I kept up with them. Hours later, I was still pain free.”

Ruth – Pilates and Stronger Steps

I’m on holiday right now and so glad I worked with you. I’ve managed all the hills and steps every day. Before this, I would never have kept up. Thank you so much for all your help and support.

Amanda – Rehab, Massage and Recovery

Sharron was excellent at supporting me, giving me exercises to strengthen my legs and support my back, while helping me think differently about the way I move. She encourages you to help yourself heal, but supports you through the process. I would highly recommend her.

A quiet, supportive space in Shepley.

Nurture Movement is based at a private home studio in Shepley, Huddersfield. A newly renovated and unhurried space, with no gym atmosphere.

The studio is part of an ongoing restoration of an 1850s home that has taken shape slowly over the last few years, with a lot of thought put into creating the kind of environment people instantly relax into.

Local people often comment on the transformation of the house itself, while clients regularly say how calm and comfortable the space feels when they walk in.

Nearby parking is available and the studio is accessible. If you have any questions about getting here or accessing the space, just ask.
