Stronger Steps
For the person who’s tired of hesitating on stairs, avoiding the floor, or working around what their body won’t do anymore.
This is about rebuilding leg strength you can trust, so moving through the day feels less like hard work.
This coaching is for you if you...
want your legs to feel stronger and more dependable in everyday life
hesitate on stairs more than you used to
avoid getting down onto the floor if you can help it
want to walk further without constantly thinking about if you’ll “make it”
feel less steady on hills or uneven ground
are tired of working around what your body won’t do anymore
want thoughtful support that feels personal, practical and realistic
Imagine feeling less hesitant in the things you do every day
-
Saying yes to walks, holidays and days out without overthinking how your body will cope.
-
Getting up and down from the floor more comfortably.
-
Feeling steadier on stairs and uneven ground.
-
Walking further without constantly needing to stop and recover.
Not because you’re trying to “turn back the clock.”
But because being able to rely on your body changes what feels possible again.

questions often asked
What if I'm not very fit?
You do not need to be fit to begin. Stronger Steps is designed to help you build strength and confidence gradually, starting from where you are now.
What if I have pain or stiffness?
Many people joining the programme are managing pain, stiffness or reduced confidence in movement. Sessions are adapted carefully and designed to help you feel stronger and steadier over time, not pushed beyond your limits.
What if my balance feels poor?
That’s exactly the kind of thing we work on. Balance can improve when it’s practised consistently and supported properly.
What if I’m the slowest one there?
You will not hold anyone back. Groups are intentionally small and everyone works at their own pace.
I’m waiting for or recovering from surgery. Can I still join?
Possibly, yes. Building strength before or after surgery can often be really supportive, but we’ll always discuss your individual situation first.
I’m not sporty. Will I keep up?
Yes. This isn’t gym fitness – it’s everyday strength for walking, bending and climbing.
What if I forget the exercises between sessions?
You’ll have short 5-minute exercise videos and WhatsApp support between sessions, so you’re not expected to remember everything on your own.
How is this different from a regular exercise class?
Everything in Stronger Steps is designed around real life. Walking further. Feeling steadier. Bending more comfortably. Climbing stairs with more confidence. It’s not generic exercise for the sake of exercise.
How quickly will I notice a difference?
Everyone is different, but many people begin noticing small changes in confidence, balance and everyday movement within the first few weeks.

in their words
The proof is in the hills they climbed.
The holidays they enjoyed.
The walks they stopped avoiding.
The moments they realised they felt more capable again.
These are the people who started worrying less about what their bodies could handle.
5 days in Florence, where I walked everywhere without foot pain, climbed stairs confidently and balanced without a handrail.
The small changes have made such a massive difference to my life. Having someone believe in me and encourage me has helped me realise what I’m capable of again.
Ruth – Stronger Steps
I’m now walking less hesitantly down hills and with much more confidence. It’s helped me realise that getting older doesn’t have to mean losing flexibility or mobility.
Carol – Stronger Steps
I was stuggling with painful, resticted knees and had lost confidence in my movment. After just 8 weeks, the difference is incredible. My pain has almost disappeared, and I can now climb, crouch, and walk confidently again with ease.
Rowena – Stronger Steps
"I’d spent years believing my feet just weren’t made for walking properly."
One client came to me carrying a story she’d believed for most of her life. As a child, she’d been told she had flat feet, unusual bone structure, and that there wasn’t much she could really do apart from wear supportive shoes. Over time, that stopped feeling like a diagnosis and started feeling like a limit on what her body was capable of.
By the time we met, nearing her 60s, she felt caught between accepting things as they were or finally trying to change them. Through treatment, movement work, and gradually rebuilding strength and confidence in her legs, she started realising her body was capable of far more than she’d been led to believe.
WHAT DRIVES THIS WORK
Why I created Stronger Steps
I’m Sharron – movement coach, manual therapist and Pilates teacher, and someone who knows what it feels like to be dismissed or handed generic advice that never really explains why your body feels the way it does.
Over the years, I’ve worked with many people who were beginning to lose trust in their legs, balance and everyday movement, and who already feared things would only keep getting smaller from here.
But bodies are adaptable.
With the right support strength can improve, confidence can return and movement can start feeling more dependable again.
That’s why I created Stronger Steps. A small-group programme designed to help people rebuild strength and trust in their bodies in a way that feels supportive, confident in the movements they rely on most.

A quiet, supportive space in Shepley.
Nurture Movement is based at a private home studio in Shepley, Huddersfield. A newly renovated and unhurried space, with no gym atmosphere.
The studio is part of an ongoing restoration of an 1850s home that has taken shape slowly over the last few years, with a lot of thought put into creating the kind of environment people instantly relax into.
Local people often comment on the transformation of the house itself, while clients regularly say how calm and comfortable the space feels when they walk in.
Nearby parking is available and the studio is accessible. If you have any questions about getting here or accessing the space, just ask.
